Carpe Diem, Carpe Noctem

Do the digging,
Dig the dirt,
Brown your tips
In the back
Behind the screen.

Take it all the same
Both the pleasure and the pain.

The field is green
I am the shade
I do not sleep
But dance always with the wind.

I am a beautiful way to drown,
If I believe I am drowning.
I am the hill that touches the sky
If I dare reach for the sun.

For the Love of the heart,
The health of a parent,
The wealth of love
That seals yet opens your heart,
For that thing that fuels your brain –
When the right hand
Deflates,
Let the left get in shape.
Dig the land,
Do the work.
The fruit is sweeter
When it is earned.

Be the shade
Move like water
Play like the air.

Stand still,
Listen keenly,
Stop surrendering.
When we love,
We don’t use our eyes to see
We use them to inspect
And what infects us the most
Is that with hindsight as a gift
And the gift of sight,
To both these things
We are blind –
To their truth
And the lie.

You are the risk
Take the chance.
You are the luck,
You’ll make it work.

The field is green
I am the shade
I do not sleep
But dance always with the wind.

I am a beautiful way to drown,
If I believe I am drowning.
I am the hill that touches the sky
If I dare reach for the sun.

Just amazing words. Very thoughtful. They haunt and send a shiver down the spine, but they are knee deep in honesty. That makes your blog wonderful. Honesty in each and every word. Please keep writing. Peace and greetings from Sui generis 💛

pretty deep stuff; at the opposite end of the spectrum to ‘Happy Haiku’ but just as good 🙂 I get from this a feeling of engulfment and how we should surrender to it, like the novels of Joyce Carol Oates

I have never read Joyce Carol (I am ashamed for this) but now she has moved up to my must-read authors of 202.

We should truly surrender to the present moment and believe that good things are in store for us whether that seems to be the case or not.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
